Hope you have a wonderful Easter! We are going to be at my mother’s home and everyone is bringing a covered dish. Mother is getting a Honeybaked ham and the rest of us are bringing our favorite side dishes. I’m not sure what I’ll bring yet – I have to see what is on my pantry shelves and what I have time to cook.
This is the deep depths of winter and I am yearning for some comfort food. I think that a big batch of homemade stew or chili would be great for dinner. I can put everything into the crockpot tomorrow morning and let it cook all day without having to worry about a thing. Then when I get home from work, I can enjoy my comfort food for dinner and take some leftovers to work on Tuesday, too.
Last night I guess I was feeling a little domestic.I got out a mixing bowl,electric mixer and box of cake mix. It was going to be a pineapple upside down cake. But I forgot to put the pineapple in the pan before I poured in the batter. Arrgh! So I baked it without the pineapple and it still tasted really good. Just a pineapple cake -not an upside down cake.
I want to have some fun pumpkins this year. If I can find a bunch of white ones for a good price, I would like to spend the day Saturday working on them to make a fun decoration for the yard. Like this arrangement I found on the internet:
