June used to be so popular for weddings and graduations and all things outdoors because the weather would be so nice. I feel sorry for anyone who has to be outside in this year’s heat. It has been so hot I can’t imagine wanting to be outdoors for any event where you have to be dressed up and forced to stand around in the heat for hours.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter! We are going to be at my mother’s home and everyone is bringing a covered dish. Mother is getting a Honeybaked ham and the rest of us are bringing our favorite side dishes. I’m not sure what I’ll bring yet – I have to see what is on my pantry shelves and what I have time to cook.
This past week has been so nice. A lot of visiting with family and friends, some nice gifts exchanged, and a whole lot of great food.
We are looking forward to a great New Year!
As a kid I would be giddy over the idea of Christmas. It was always so much fun, decorating the tree and shopping for presents, watching classic holidays shows on TV and being off from school for over a week. But as an adult, all of those activities are so hard to handle and very stressful. I think we make too much about this holiday and need to scale back a little – for the sake of our sanity.
Even so, I do like the holiday season and hope you enjoy it, too.
