Uncle Sam is waiting for his payments from all of us taxpayers. He insists that the money owed be paid by April 15th every year. Uncle Sam does not like it when you are late. So everyone should be a good citizen and send in all your money today.
My mom called and told me that she went shopping today and tried to use a gift card to pay for her items, but the store would not take it. They said it had expired. I had never heard of gift cards expiring!
That bothers me a lot. I wonder where they have the fine print about expiring when you give someone a gift card. I have to go home tonight and look at all of mine and see if I can tell if they are still good.
If you haven’t filed your taxes yet this year, I bet its because you owe Uncle Sam some money. Almost everyone I know that was getting a refund filed their taxes months ago – when they first got their W-2s.
I got back about $500 – that’s not too shabby. I really wanted to spend it on new clothes and a few things for the condo, but with the economy so bad I decided to put it into a CD at my bank. I have to be careful with my money.
