Hope you have a wonderful Easter! We are going to be at my mother’s home and everyone is bringing a covered dish. Mother is getting a Honeybaked ham and the rest of us are bringing our favorite side dishes. I’m not sure what I’ll bring yet – I have to see what is on my pantry shelves and what I have time to cook.
Never have been accident prone, but for no reason that I can think of, I dropped my cell phone this morning. I was talking to my sister and walking to my car, and it just slipped out of my hand. Of course, it crashed onto the concrete driveway and smashed. The back cover broke off, the phone battery and memory chip went flying into the dirt, and the display glass is cracked. I can’t believe it works at all, but I put it back together and I can still make calls. I’ll need to get a new one soon, but this will have to work until payday.
As a kid I would be giddy over the idea of Christmas. It was always so much fun, decorating the tree and shopping for presents, watching classic holidays shows on TV and being off from school for over a week. But as an adult, all of those activities are so hard to handle and very stressful. I think we make too much about this holiday and need to scale back a little – for the sake of our sanity.
Even so, I do like the holiday season and hope you enjoy it, too.
My grandmotther and grandfather keep a lot of boats and trailers on their summer property. They stay in a nice cabin right on the river, and the rest of the family goes down on weekends throughout the summer to have fun boating, fishing, skiing and just walking the sand looking for shells.
This weekend is the last good weather weekend we are likely to have this year. So I am going to drive down and help them winterize the pipes and engines. It’s not hard to do but it sure goes faster and easier when you have an extra pair of hands to help out.
My dad called today and reminded me to back up my computer files. That was nice of him to think of me. He knows I don’t keep up very well with things like backing up my computer or getting the oil changed in my car. I wish there was an automatic reminder on the internet that would give me a heads up at the end of the day. Maybe they do have something like that, but I haven’t seen it anywhere. For now I have to count on my dad giving me a call with a friendly reminder.
