It was very heavy rain, some hail, and a lot of lightning. I saw a lightning bolt come down and hit a building’s antennae just three stores north of ours. Then right after that the transformer on the corner of our parking lot blew up. So we had no electricity for the rest of the day.

That was a stressful afternoon for all of us, but thankfully we are all safe and tomorrow will be another day.

I’ve been avoiding going to the movies on Saturdays because they were so crowded. But this time I went on a Friday night and I was told the show was sold out and I had to catch a later showing. That’s not even for the newest most popular movie! Wow – maybe I should rethink my choice of movie nights.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to be outside in this year’s heat. It has been so hot I can’t imagine wanting to be outdoors for any event where you have to be dressed up and forced to stand around in the heat for hours.
